We are very pleased to announce that our long standing collaboration partner and former colleague, Prof. Dr. Damiano Di Francesco Maesa from the University of Pisa (Italy), was invited to present progress we have made with our Climbing ALPS collaborative project with regards to the use of our jointly developed Automated Licensing Payment System (ALPS) project and how it can be used for the automated remuneration of data owners, whose data is being used to train AI models.
Damiano presented this work during an Invited Keynote at the 9th Symposium on Distributed Ledger Technology (SDLT 2025) in Melbourne, Australia, on 21st of November 2025.
The keynote was titled “Fair Remuneration for AI Training Data: a Trustworthy Blockchain Approach” and showcased how a blockchain based solution for trustworthy IP remuneration, based on the ALPS system, can help amend the widespread lack of remuneration for IP owners of data used for Machine Learning models training.
Damiano's participation was partially funded by an Ethereum Foundation Academic grant won by the ALPS team.
