Innovation and Intellectual Property Management (IIPM) Laboratory

Education overview

We are involved in a wide range of teaching activities mostly centred in the Department of Engineering and particularly the IfM. Teaching covers some lectures on the basics of intellectual property rights, but also more advanced technology and innovation management as well as strategic management of IP.

Teaching is provided to undergraduate students of the Engineering Tripos and particularly the Manufacturing Engineering Tripos (MET), but also graduate students of the Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (ISMM) course. Frank Tietze is responsible for coordinating industrial projects for MET students.

We are also involved in PhD education and training, such as the IfM's Researcher Development Courses – formerly Research and Communications Clubs and Reading Clubs. Frank Tietze is Director of Studies for MET students at Wolfson College and external Director of Studies at Gonville and Caius College.
