Collaborations
At the Innovation & Intellectual Property Management (IIPM) Laboratory we believe in science being a collaborative endeavour, wherefore we maintains an active network of collaborative partnerships across the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Internationally, we collaborate with institutions such as East China Normal University (China), Tsinghua University (China), the Indian Institute of Science (India), and the International Management Institute (IMI) in New Delhi (India) but also with colleagues from Africa, such as from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).
Across Europe, our partnerships include Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), Mälardalen University (Sweden), the University of Oulu (Finland), the University of Pisa (Italy), Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria), and the University of Antwerp (Belgium). In Germany, we have a historically a strong record of collaboration, such as with the Technical University of Munich, RWTH Aachen University, the University of Münster, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Technische Universität Hamburg, Kiel University, and Fraunhofer Institutes such as KATI.
In the UK, we work with partners such as at the University of Exeter Business School, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and The Alan Turing Institute.
Our collaborative relationships take many forms. We collaborate regularly on joint projects, including EU Horizon funded projects that involve established academics (frequently at the postdoctoral level and above), and also host visiting researchers. Visits may be arranged for PhD candidates or Master’s students wishing to complete a thesis in close cooperation with our team. We also collaborate with colleagues organising special issues in journals or dedicated tracks/ themed sessions at international conferences.
If you are an excellent Master’s student interested in visiting us to complete your thesis—and if your proposed topic is closely aligned with our focus on strategic intellectual property management in green-tech innovation processes—please feel free to contact Prof Tietze at frank.tietze@eng.cam.ac.uk. Please note that the university charges a bench fee to all visitors.
